They say the first time for anything is always the hardest, and they’re right; especially for blogging. I guess the first entry is the time to tell everyone what to expect in blogs to come.

I guess for me, this blog is going to be an outlet for any thoughts I have on life, people, media, anything really. I’ll probably also post a lot of videos from my second home of YouTube and new music or comics that I find.

You might be wondering why I named my blog “the passenger seat”. It’s named after the song “Passenger Seat” by Death Cab For Cutie (my favourite band) from the album Transatlanticism. Ben Gibbard is a genius lyricist; no one else really comes close to his standard in my opinion.

i roll the window down
and then begin to breathe in
the darkest country road
and the strong scent of evergreen
from the passenger seat as you are driving me home.

then looking upwards
i strain my eyes and try
to tell the difference between
shooting stars and satellites
from the passenger seat as you are driving me home.

“do they collide?”
i ask and you smile.
with my feet on the dash
the world doesn’t matter.

when you feel embarrassed then i’ll be your pride
when you need directions then i’ll be the guide
for all time.
for all time.

I guess this blog will be my view of things from the passenger seat.
